Sinnoh is the second most soulful region after Johto.

I don't care if they're "objectively flawed", I only care about how comfy and soulful my playthrough is, and Sinnoh and Johto are the two best regions in that regard, which makes them the best in the series.

I love appreciating the music, sprites and map design.

Well, it is. Nice big region with varied cities and a non-stupid path through it. Reasonably sized regional dex. Good postgame with an area featuring high leveled wild Pokemon to level up against, and the Battle Frontier. And it's designed in the era when kids actually spent time revisiting and exploring a game, so it has little things to discover and isn't super simplified to allow everything to be experienced in one streamlined playthrough before you discard it and go back to free mobile games.

The main two things I wish it had are the superior gen 5 engine, and reusable or at least more re-obtainable TMs.

This game has some of the laziest most nonsensical roadblocks and railroading in the series which is staggering considering it also has effectively 9 fucking HMs.

Well yeah there aren't many choices at the start. There almost never are. But get a few badges in and there's a good deal more to pick from.

I don't just mean route exploration, but I get it, babby wants straight hallway. I mean stuff like the mechanics of super contests are considerably more involved than anything before or after. Or how do I get this stupid fish and make it evolve. At the time people would put some time into trying to figure things out before going to get the guidebook or trying somewhat error-prone text guides online.
