SWSH - Almost all Pokemon are slow, with some so fast that they easily catch up to you and stop momentarily until you're a certain distance to do it all over again. All Pokemon that are far enough way will teleport to the player. Riding is confined to a bicycle.
SV - same with SWSH but Pokemon that are far enough away are sent back into their Poke Balls. Riding is gatekept to either Koraidon or Miraidon, depending on the game.
tl;dr: the zealotry for Kanto is holding back the franchise in many aspects. Various Pokemon that don't have tiea to Gen 1 are also sabotaged because of this as seen with the Gen 2 starters (which the community is also in the wrong for constantly shitting on Meganium leading to Game Freak not doing anything for it).
