It's only really just a tiny minority of casual players that seethe about competitive play, possibly because they're insecure about their own abilities as a "Pokemon master". Or possibly because they don't understand what tierlists are and they think the competitive autists are saying their favourite Pokemon is shit.

I feel like its because when game freak does things to cater to comp the casuals that played the previous gens for 3000h to get a shiny shitter get angry that newer people didn't grind as much as they do so the compshitters are lesser, kind of

comp players are straight up annoying sometimes, especially when they suggest "balance" suggestions that just make the casual experience even more one noted than it already is

Have mainly seen casuals bitch about muh Karen quote as if people are making them play a specific meta game. Casuals often bitch about legendaries and what’s good in the meta rather than using some garbage like Power Trick Shuckle (it works guys I swear!1!1!1!). Only seen a few competitive players get on a high horse about being good in a children’s game.

Because they are so different than each other that they are effectively different games, and they pull at each other so changes to improve one reduce the quality of the other. Think of it like Smash Bros. Timed FFA with items and 1v1 Stock no items are completely different games. The difference is, unlike Smash, there's very little way to change how you play Pokemon outside of romhacks and mods.
