Hmm quite poignant. Pontificate the following if you will.
I have a theory for why Gamefreak has, over the last 2 decades, constantly made the same mistakes over and over in two significant areas.
>making remakes that are of the beta versions of a generation instead of the finished third version e.g. HGSS instead of crystal, ORAS instead of emerald, BDSM instead of platinum
>introducing fun/interesting new features every generation and removing features in the next generation
Gamefreak is not stupid, they know exactly what they are doing. They are doing this on purpose for a very logical reason: Avoiding self-competition. Imagine, if you will, that they did the "logical" thing of not removing features every new game, and remaking the best versions of every generation. You would quickly conclude that this would lead to a state where every single pokemon game improves over time, with every game surpassing the one before it. Aha! But you see, this also would mean that every pokemon game would equally then be a superset and make obsolete all pokemon games that came before it. This leads to a situation where your products compete with each other. People would never play the previous product if the newest one always represents the best version of all previous products. By doing what they do, Gamefreak creates a situation where now every pokemon game has unique and exclusive features that set them apart since they are never seen again. This way, every pokemon game has something different that makes you have an incentive to play every single pokemon game instead of only playing 1 or 2 pokemon games that have everything. This is actually an incredibly big brained business decision on Gamefreak's part, although it comes at the detriment of the customer. I hope this all made sense and educated you so that when you ask "why did gamefreak remove following pokemon?" or "why did gamefreak remove secret bases?" or "why did gamefreak remove ball capsules?", you now understand.
