The one parent he had neglected him since he was a little kid to the point where he had to raise himself / be raised by a Pokémon, and then they just kill them off for no reason. Apparently he even knew that his parent had been dead for "a couple of years", but couldn't cope with it and didn't want to accept it. I mean Arven is what, like 16 years old? 17 maybe? He's been an orphan since he was 14, fucking hell. Even longer if you count the years before that where he hasn't seen them in person. And then he meets a robot clone that looks and sounds just like his parent, but moves and acts uncannily and literally glitches out. AND THEN he has to watch that thing bearing his parent's likeness fuck off for all eternity into the time machine, minutes after he met it and just after it claims that his parent truly loved him. What the fuck, Ohmori?
Parental trauma or not, he really didn't have to make Arven a child neglect victim AND an orphan AND make him experience losing his one parent a second time before he even finished coping with the first time. Absolutely fucking brutal.
