>a Gameshark Advance with a USB port on it>a Gameshark SP that I got because the cartridge connector on the above was slowly breaking>a "Super Memory Hunter SMS2" which plugged into the link port and could backup and restore saves into its own memory, as well as hex edit them on-console>a few GBC Gamesharks, including a "special edition for Pokemon Crystal" though its firmware got accidentally overwritten with the regular GBC Gameshark firmware when I discovered that plugging in GBC->Gameshark 1->Gameshark 2->game made Gameshark 1 copy its firmware to Gameshark 2 to allow updating or fixing bricked Gamesharks (I thought I was going to use that stack to run one Gameshark through the other and hack codes that screw with the code search function)I once used the SMS2 thing's hex editor to make a shiny perfect-IV Mew. I worked out the bytes with pencil and paper and injected it into Emerald using this thing by entering them on my GBA and then updating the save block checksum. It took a couple of tries that resulted in "The save file is corrupt. Loading previous save file." or a bad egg before I got it right.
