>>56120586>Yeah but everytime they improve people act like gamefreak shot their dog.The problem is that GF's improvements, and it's not just about characters, writing and characterization, but about everything is that they're "improvements" that became industry standards years and years ago but it's okay when Pokemon does it and it's okay when Pokemon is 10 years behind in every aspect compared to their contemporaries and somehow when Pokemon does it is "revolutionary".
>They WANT the no personality versions from the early gens as if pokemon becoming showdown is the ultimate goal of the franchise.>The drop from gen 5 to 6 is the weirdest. The gym leaders actually taking part of the main story back to "I have two lines of dialogue, one before the gym battle, and one after, and will never appear in the story again" But the fact people want that version of pokemon is baffling. This is the first time ever I've heard of this.
In fact, Gen 6 gets shat-on 24/7 because of how awful and lacking the characterization and writing is. Just look at how Diantha is considered by far and wide the worst Champion of them all because she's such a literally who.
There's a reason why so many Gen 9 characters get so much stuff, the Paldea E4 is a prime example of this. It's not a stretch to say they're the most popular E4 of them all and that's because the game actually had something to bite on in regards of characterization for them as people and as a group.
Look at how hard the anime is shilling them right now as consequence of that which is very rare since the anime loves to push their fanfic OCs and ignore the game characters all the time and whenever they appear they also have fanfic characterizations too so they are just OCs wearing the game characters skins.
