>>56127251>Not a good thing, especially when the sprites and animations were horribly implemented.I COULD just say you have shit taste and end it here since you just want to be a contrarian, but I'll bite.
Yes, the sprite battling looks better than 3d modeling. It allows the visuals to be more abstract, thus the shortcomings from the animations aren't as jarring. The sprites also limit the visual clutter a Pokemon can have, leading to more concise designs.
>Blowing up the back spritesI said the UI in that point. Learn to read.
>How in the fuck is replacing a battle theme with a retarded low HP beeping loop a good thing?Well newfag, you'd do well to remember that earlier entries of it just had a jingle overlaying the current battle theme. The point of said jingle is to alert players new to RPGs of their dangerous status since Pokemon is an introductory game to the genre. Gen V turning that into a dynamic music choice keeps the purpose, but removes the annoyance.
Also, it's not a "low HP beeping loop." It uses that loop as percussion at the beginning.
I seriously question if you've played these games.
>I already didI legitimately forgot about XY's dungeons. I stand corrected on that point.
>Not inherently a good thingActually, it is. The areas are optional, so they don't add that much additional difficulty, but having two Pokemon appear increases the pace of whatever you're doing in grass, be it grinding, looking for rare Pokemon, shiny hunting, etc. It's strictly a boon.
>Not inherently a good thingCompared to the third editions, yes they were. It's more content.
