>>56150697To elaborate on this, when artists design characters, they almost never think of a specific age. It's just broad strokes. "This character is a young adult", "This character is mature.'', "This character is a highschooler.", etc. If an age is ever set, it's done after the design and character concept is finished and almost always is completely arbitrary. In fact it is better to leave a character's age ambiguous so a wider range of people can relate to them or relate them to people they know. I think this is especially true for pokemon characters, which is why I don't mind off-model art for them. It just feels true to the spirit, each person is giving out their own view of this character.
