Ampharos is a good and dependable mon you can put on any team and it even learns Fire Punch. You're left with relying on the Odd Egg or using pokemon that are even more TM dependent than Ampharos like Electrode or Magneton. There's Lanturn but it's also part Water type and I might not necessarily want Lanturn to be the Water type I use. Crystal is full of crap like this, it removes Mankey, it makes Magmar harder to get for no reason. Some days I even want to put GS over Crystal.
