Either way the biggest mindbreak in the series still belongs to Hau, something that I won't blame people for not knowing since nobody played Ultra Changes. Kieran is close, I admit - he shows his teeth and you promptly smash them in, doing so in front of his sister, his pokewaifu, his classmates, and anyone he holds in high regard. After you're done with him, his natural emotional response to trauma is to have another mental breakdown. And yet.
>It's hard to be strong enough to admit that you're weak... you know?
Nothing Kieran says or does tops this imo. This is a final admission of defeat. For all it's worth, Kieran does end up becoming pretty strong, and then he copes by being your friend and whatever the fuck. You stomp Hop's dreams to the point where he gives up on being a trainer, but at least he got the Legendary. Meanwhile, Hau, everything he does, all the work he puts towards besting you, none of it matters. He never gets anything from it.
