>>56145566Been a huge Armaldo fan ever since Explorers of Sky added the special episode with Armaldo and Igglybuff, such a heartwrencher. That game is a true masterpiece.
As far as "good" competitively, you could type in "Armaldo Smogon" on Google and see its respective tiers and standard sets across the generations, def a powercrept mon.
Casually I think it's swell, high attack stat, used one for Emerald Kaizo's E4 once and it holds its own well, wanna use it again in a full run one day. It's def a mon that appreciates romhacks that buff the underdogs.
Actually, looking at the changes it got in Elite Redux is making me want to use one. It has 3 choices of abilities + 3 really solid "Innates".
The ability choices are:
- Battle Armor (now also reduces damage from moves by 20%)
- Keen Edge (boosts slashing moves by 30%)
- Impenetrable (takes no indirect damage)
Then the guaranteed innates which are:
- Fossilized (haves incoming rock damage, boosts rock moves by 20%)
- Amphibious (water moves gain STAB)
- Hyper Cutter (now also ups crit level by +1)
Not to mention new access to moves like Accelerock, Stone Axe, Head Smash, Razor Shell, and Wave Crash among others.

Yeah that settles it for me, def using one in my first Elite Redux run, thanks for the inspiration anon!
>Will people call me Steven if I use both on my team?I will :)
>>56145575Rock is great offensively but terrible defensively, kinda like Ice. if they make more fossil sweepers then it doesn't even need a buff, just gotta be able to play to their strengths.
