Says who. I can get if you think one dex entry doesn't sound very reasonable, but when it's literally 90% of them saying "ghosts kill/curse people" I'd say at very least the general idea is canon.

But yea Poison type is pretty much the evil team type, even if most of them don't seem particularly worse than any other type.

Poison is inherently evil in a gruntish way which is why Gen 1 had so many, most of them were weak and their attack match-ups are bad.
