i have yet to see a single cross gen evolution that doesn't either look horibly ugly compared to its pre-evolution or entierly miss the point of the design of the original line.

I think Yanmega does a good job in being a cross gen evolutiion. It maintains Yanma's body shape while adding on details to make it feel more powerful. Evolving by knowing Ancient Power builds upon the Meganeura inspiration behind Yanma.

No it wasn't. It was the best ghost type in the game when it was introduced, at least in the Nintendo Cup format Game Freak balanced the game around. it only feel off because of the insane powercreep of gen 4

The eeveelutions alone disprove your point, they're all well liked and if anything people want more of them for the other types.
As for the other ones its something of a mixed bag, there's plenty of good ones like Mismagius, Weavile, Porygon2/Z, etc.

This was such a weird choice in how to interpret Crobat's teeth. Like, I get that it wasn't GF doing it, but still. What the fuck Genius Sonority? One of the few designs out there that actually looked better when Creatures finally started doing their own 3D models for Pokemon games.

No? It was developed by Nintendo EAD, which became Genius Sonority after Stadium 2. They were also the ones who developed the original Stadium. They were the ones behind Stadium, Stadium 2, Colosseum, Colosseum XD, and Battle Revolution as well as a handful of other side games. HAL didn't have anything to do with Stadium 2. Like, nothing what so ever.

Dundunsparce was nothing more then an inside joke between the devs that somehow made into the game. Theres nothing about dunsparce that implies it would double up so I don't want to hear anyone say it makes sense.

You either like it or hate it, I flip between the two. I like that it still looks like dunsparce and I think it's a funny and unique idea for an evolution for THE pokemon that needed an evolution on the other hand as time went on they started to give Dunsparce a pretty crazy learnset and it started to feel like a pokemon that had potential and would maybe one day evolve into something cool. So when I think of that I hate that the evolution is more then a troll in terms of design Dundunsparce is still BAD sporting gen 1 tier stats and identical abilities to dunsparce it even still has run away on top of that it's new signature move is outdone be return. I think its overall a loss for dunsparce fans
