What the fuck does Giratina represent? I've heard anti-matter, but this seems like bullshit. Giratina representing gravity would make more sense considering how the Distortion World is. Dark matter? idk. Hasn't canon information been inconsistent about this?

Also why is Giratina represented by the metal platinum, I have never understood this. How is it related to the metal platinum in literally any way?

It is simply polarity, the anti-everything. Cynthia explicitly says antimatter in Sinjoh Ruins but it is pretty silly to be something so specific and unimportant, rather that's just one of many things that falls under it.
I think gravity falls under Palkia's domain.

Giratina represents black holes because time and space are reversed inside of black holes. The Distortion World is the inside of a black hole/beyond the event horizon because time (infinite) and space (finite) reverse inside a black hole. In the Distortion World time is finite and space is infinite. This is why it was "banished" to the Distortion World because just like a black hole it distorts everything it comes in contact with, causing chaos.

Yeah that makes more sense. The Distortion World seems like it represents gravity but that's misreading the situation. It represents both space and time breaking down and not functioning right. It's an ABSENCE of gravity or time, that's the point

Gravity is a consequence of space warping due to mass. Gravity also affects time. Giratina being Gravity is the best answer. Palkia is only space.

I don't buy the antimatter thing because antimatter annihilates when it goes into contact with "regular" matter and if Giratina really was made of antimatter then just it opening a portal to an antimatter dimension would have made for one hell of an explosion.

That's my thought on it. Giratina being Antimatter doesn't even fit with Dialga and Palkia's theming. To that end, Gravity always came across as the more fitting inspiration and motif to compliment Dialga's Time and Palkia's Space.
