Even if the summery or authors note doesn't outright say 'realistic' or 'darker', they add really annoying shit like 'Ash ages realistically' or 'the Nurse Joy's and Officer Jenny's are all just employees wearing wigs'.
If they're not willing to accept the nonsensical aspects of the series, they don't actually love the world of Pokemon.
