>>56180022I wasn't exactly jumping for joy in the main campaign, so I figured that I wouldn't be enthusiastic about what comes after. My golden guideline is if I don't HAVE to do something and DON'T want to do it, then I won't. It's why I mostly skipped the generation 3 and 4 Battle Frontiers, too gimmicky for my liking.
>>56180027If catching Zygarde doesn't count then basically yeah
>>56180049>presentationMy fault for being vague, but I had an easier time getting the setting for other games than I did for XY. They're not high art or anything, but there was a discernable vibe to each of them to get an idea from, like the urban and the natural contrasts in Kanto, the laid back and japanese traditional rural Johto, the harmonious and tropical Hoenn when it comes to the land and the sea, the cold and rough and rugged (and sort of annoying) Sinnoh, the heavily modern towns and cities of the interconnected Unova, the tropical tourist attraction that is Alola, I don't have anything for Galar, and the enormous playground called Paldea. For Kalos I didn't get too much out of it even though I liked some places like Laverre and Dendemille Town, but I guess its sort of like a snobbier, fancier, and more expensive Unova?
>QoLNot counting the things that were in its predecessor titles like automatic repel reuse, the changes it did introduce were done better in later titles like mega evolution, trainer customization, fairies, EV training and exp. all. gen 7 in particular unfucked the rough edges to the last one. I'd say it suffers for its success in that regard since everything that came after took it and made it better, which isn't its fault but makes it inferior to the other 3DS titles
>gameplayNot going to pretend there was ever a humongous gamechanger past the p/s split or that the games are hard, but I haven't felt a major turning point or a memorable boss fight ONCE throughout the game. Maybe just Lysandre going 0-3 and promptly committing suicide afterwards.
