and because I'm a sappy fucker, I asked her to find another cat to look after me when she'd gone, prior to putting her to sleep. I had told everyone I would get another cat, but didn't want to go looking straight away, but 5 days later an workmate told me his friend had rescued a mother and her two kittens. So I went, fell in love with both of them and in the month I waited to let them grow old enough to leave mama, had mentally broken myself down to the point despite only planning to take one kitten, I ended up taking the pair. They're currently asleep on the chairs in the living room, the house is a wreck and I still don't regret my choice to take both.
