When you were young did you own Red or Blue, and which do you prefer and why?

Red, and I wanted blue because I liked the blue tint (you could fix this at least) and ninetales and persian.
But I really liked the oddish line.

I had red, which was annoying because I really wanted Sandslash and didnt realize it was an exclusive
I did get a Vileplume that served me well so its not all bad
The only other thing I remember from playing way back then was having a Hypno as my ace, had a soft spot for them ever since

Picked Blue largely because Rad Turtle is more creative and interesting than Generic Dragon 9000, also blue feels like a calmer nicer colour. I was not aware of the version exclusives when I bought it on release day in 1998. My only real foreknowledge was the starters, so I knew I would choose Bulbasaur based on the Sugimori art of each starter previewed in Pokemon Power.

Blue, it was always my favorite color.

I got Blue and my brother got Red, so we just traded for the version exclusives and trade evolutions.
Here's my old cart, including messed up Mew distribution sticker. (died with my Silver battery many years ago, RIP)

I had Red.
Ended up liking Arcanine and Vileplum. Primeape too but I only used it very recently, same for Electabuzz but in Plat.
Ninetales and Sandslash got into my LG team instead.
