The Master Ball is an exception and even then the anime showed a Master Ball fail. Not only that, but a Pokémon can exit their ball whenever they want.
It's taking the word "capture" too literally. Just like how people in this thread take the word "shrink" too literally, thinking that Pokémon have their bodies physically and uniformly shrunk when going in their ball.
