I wouldn't mind if gamefreak dropped the pretence and just stopped making new pokemon if it meant they could focus on putting out a decent game. people only get so sngry about it because they're just conditioned to get new pokemon every year. so it will never happen because people would cry endlessly. but there's nothing inherently wrong with iterating on past pokemon. people can't really articulate why it is besides that it "takes slots" from new pokemon. there's a fucking thousand of the things now, just take a break. and it seems like GF has more fun riffing on old designs anyway. but whatever you will never convince anybody who needs to have new shiny toys every hear and would pay gamefreak to shit down their throats if it meant getting a new pokemon. if the perfect pokemon game out but had no new pokemon, they would bitch about it. fuck em. pokemon fans get what they deserve.
