What was the purpose and thought process of his design and what was the general & your opinion on it?

The beach tan (Archie is not black) and the diver's suit clearly show his active lifestyle and how much he loves water. Very good design, 10/10.

I'd say it gives him more character, but he seems a bit goofy to me whereas the original felt more serious and threatening. I like Maxie's redesign more.
I generally don't like pokemons gen 6 artstyle, so that plays a factor.

That's my only complaint about him. Yes, I get that he is supposed to be a carefree hype man who is slave of his bro attitude, but I wouldn't mind him being a little more serious, or show more aggression and less dumbfuck attitudes in certain moments. It's clear that they wanted him to be the polar opposite of Maxie, thus they went full bara gay muscle fantasy on his ass (this I don't mind tho)
