Serious thoughts only.
Mainline pokemon games on switch have been underwhelming graphics and performance wise, but how so?
If we look at the previous 3ds ones they looked great, especially for the low amount of power of the handheld and compared to other games.
So why they drop so hard on that aspect?
I think one of the main reasons is open world. As the game will render the whole map instead of tiny areas with loading screens.
We can really see this in SwSh, where all of the 'hallway' places in the game are graphically and performance-wise great EXCEPT the wild area which is free open world.
They then switched to mostly fully open world in SV, which is why the whole game is bad graphics and performance wise.
The switch 2 is rumored to have ps4 levels of power, will they finally be able to render everything correctly in open world games? Only time will tell.
Thots?
