The story on how I discovered the poem was a bit interesting. I was looking for sleepy hybrids last thread, and stumbled across the Vaporeon image at an astonishing 500x350 resolution.
It was on Pintrest, so I went looking for the source. I initially came across a Tumblr account named Nighthallows... He hasn't posted in a bit. I hope he's doing well, just like I hope the depressed anon is. His stuff is all depressive content, and he hasn't posted in 7 years.
Anyways, I didn't notice it at the time, but the URL actually attributed it to one mjzearen, another Tumblr account that hasn't posted since 2017. Unfortunately, the repost by Nighthallows was of the same quality as Pintrest, so I kept looking, until I stumbled across Fanpop, which had it under the name of "Eevee Thoughts" posted by purplevampire. It was the full series, which I'm posting here. (I saw some people crediting PV for other work, so maybe PV is a different pseudonym for mizearen, or there was a misunderstanding.)
And to add to all of this, interestingly, this is actually a TRANSLATION AND COLORATION OF ANOTHER ARTIST! As I was preparing this post last night, I actually came across the originals on Danbooru, attributed to one Midorihana Yasaiko. You can find his Pixiv artwork here:
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/7701090It even has a whole ass comic attached which I'm not going to post today, but I will save for later usage. Hopefully, someone can translate it for me. I'm learning Swedish first, before I try to do something more daunting like Japanese.
I kind of missed doing this. Felt like I was truly web-surfing... The internet feels cramped thanks to its enshittification, but rabbit holes like this reminds me that the internet truly is expansive and will always be an expansive frontier, no matter how much corporations take up.
