2nd is the best of the series.
Third ruins it entirely.
The third game turns it into a car racer, with an parter system that ruined combat.
The combat worked on an energy system that required you to wait to charge energy/stamina.
The energy is shared between you and an npc you can't controll. So you save up your points for a big move and the npc will spend it all to use protect on themselves.
They took finding multiple parts to make it better, they butchered all the models and turned them all into 3-4 models with reskins.
