According to this page, FRLG had some additional content, that didn't make it to the final game. Here are some examples:
>There were some more routes planned for the Sevii Islands (however, they're called "isles" in the game files, instead of "routes")
>There's 3 identical unused house interiors, one of which is located on route 19, where Pikachu's Beach minigame is in Pokemon Yellow, leading to speculation about whether the minigame was planned for FRLG at some point
>There's data showing Professor Oak was planned to battle you at some point
>There's data for wild double battles
>There's data of one chip tune (healing your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center) that suggests an item like GB Sounds could've been planned at some point
What do you guys think about all of these? Were these features cut due to time constraints, or for another reason? Maybe the developers just didn't think these features were needed, and abandoned these ideas early during development? We can't really know for sure, but we can speculate. What do you guys think about them?
