>>56271306>one or two new ability options>stat increase to help the pokemon fulfill it's main role (number really depends on the mon in question)>better learn set that feels logical or well deserving gameplay wise >unique item that buffs themI think all of these are the best ways to do it. Personally I feel like retyping stuff always feels amateur, even in the rare instances it makes sense.
As one of the very few Beedrillfags in existence I always look forward to seeing how hacks buff this guy. It seems to be generally agreed that base Beedrill is the worst fully evolved pokemon ofvthe kantodex so devs always seem to go out of their way for it. Giving it access to its mega is the obvious choice but I enjoy the mix of buffs but I've seen a number of options done for it, access to technician in unbound was quite nice but I think my favorite currently is peridot where it gets a unique item that boosts its crit chance to absurd degrees, lot of fun looking for a point to boost with agility and sweep. I do appreciate romhackers trying to give shitmon fans a bone and letting them use their favorites withlut it feeling like an active handicap but they get unreasonable at times, especially when they want to retcon consistent design elements.
