The last time we had a gap year, they had finished with the Gen's releases. Gen 10 isn't 2025 no matter how much you retarded keks wish it so, so this year is our gap year. Should have realised that when they didn't announce a game for this year after announcing one for next year.

Exactly, one of TPC's biggest excuses is that due to the short production time they deliver deficient products, let's see if this is true.

Although the truth is that they could easily hire other studios and have different spinoffs that do not affect the main line, and can be released on these dates.

Without getting into controversy, and respecting everyone's tastes, being objective, the new anime is not popular, I'm not criticizing its production or quality, but its audience is really very small.

Just to give an example, during Journey there were a large number of YT channels that lived off of making anime content, reviews, summaries, theories, spoilers. At the end of this series, its audience fell by more than 50% and continued to decrease, more than 3/4 of these channels closed or changed their content.(I'm just using this as an example, I know nobody here gives a shit about YT)

I repeat, I'm sure that the new anime has an audience, but it's not even close to the previous one and the line of movies is practically dead due to Koko.

It's doing well in japan. The dub is painful to listen to but I don't think TPC really cares that much considering they unceremoniously dumped it on Netflix

Also, we got the reboot *because* journeys' ratings were so poor, the only metric they actually care about.

It's weird, I was expecting this to be the Tamers of Pokemon, changing the status quo and a bunch of things, but it feels more like a bland extension of the original, like a sequel starring a couple of CotD but with the same filler scripts from the original series, I don't understand why they didn't just introduce Juliana and make a fun version of the story from the games, even the edgy manga version sounds more interesting.

I think that's pretty fair honestly. I watch Horizons with some friends periodically and I have enjoyed it for the most part, but I think it's going to generally depend a lot on what people expect and want out of the show; for me I like seeing the new Pokemon interacting in various ways, but I know for others they're just coombrained for the new characters or are disappointed because of the lack of a focus on battling, the gym challenge and so on.

Gap years should have at least a spinoff game to tie Pokémon addicts over until the next major release. You know what we got for spinoffs in 2015? Super Mystery Dungeon and the introduction of freemium in the forms of Shuffle, Rumble World, and Picross. In 2016 before Sun and Moon, we got GO and for Japanese players, Duel. What have we gotten so far in 2024? Updates to freemium games and if you're not into those, you get nothing.

The issue I think is all the main spinoffs are now live service titles; Sleep, Unite, Cafe Remix and whatever the other one was, so TPCi will update those in place of novel releases. Honestly it may be for the best though, since it prevents them from overly pressuring secondary developers into putting out rushed games like Gamefreak does.

I think that might have been a Nintendo mandate. They've been doing that with a bunch of their games this gen, presumably to resurrect interest in a game after the initial launch hype dies. Mario Odyssey had the Luigi balloon mode, Metroid Dread had 1HP mode, Legends Arceus had Daybreak, etc. Sometimes more minor stuff like BotW's Xenoblade 2 outfit or Xenoblade 2 getting Mythra's Smash design. Animal Crossing was the only time I can say it was almost surely rushed.
