>>56277229haven't played switch games so idk
Alola- The town/city is generally not needed most of the time, so having them just plop you in the middle of the route is kinda fun.
Aspertia- can get some wild pokemon (only basculin) but a gym definitely puts it on the map
New Bark- not much there besides the lab, but it importanty connects Johto to Kanto, making it feel at least a little relevant in lore. Being able to get some wild mons from fishing is ok. Mom actually does something in this game, but you can also just call her.
Pallet- Does have the lab and is connected to a water route to the south which you can get to Cinnibar by as well as the only place (i think) you can get a tangela)
Littleroot- Lab and that's it
Nuvema- Lab and that's it
New Leaf- Litterally NOTHING. Has NO reason to exist. Sandgem would be a much better location.
Vaniville- Even with all the others that are useless, they are next to route that you can reason, needs to exist for the region. Kanto's and Johto's are self-explanatory, Hoenn's is almost not needed due to 102 and 103, Sinnoh connects useful towns to the Lake, Unova 1's connects to two more massive sea/island routes with maybe some story significance, Unova 2's isn't that needed, Alola's is a route itself that's needed for the circular nature of the island. Route 1 for Kalos is utterly USELESS. Just start in Aquacorde, or even make them part of the same town ffs.
