The writing was always terrible. SV is the first game that actually put effort into it and has a decent story.
Most of the mechanics have been outdated for 20 years.
It suffers from terrible bloat with tons of abilities and attacks that are fucking useless. Dexcut at least fixes this a bit.
They have absurd mechanics that add absolutely nothing to the game, like getting stuck in the fucking mud or snow in gen 4 or mist.
Single use TM were some of the dumbest shit in older games (Oh you want another Stealth Rock TM? Well that's too fucking bad idiot, you need to replay another game for that LOL!)
Shit like breeding and playing the IV and nature lottery are tedious and unfun garbage.
I could go on forever. Older games had tons of flaws, of which the newer games fixed a few, but not all. Stop being blinded by nostalgia and/or autism.
