When the Alola dex was new this guy was obscured by Golisopod for me since they shared a dual typing but with that past I've come to really like Araquanid. I think the only aspect of its design I find a little odd is the bubble joints on the legs, feel like they could have been made smaller. Amazing how its ability alone kind of saves it as a mon, it's effective in both casual and even some online play in my experience but it isn't a particularly fun mon to use unfortunately since you basically never are going to do anything with it but press liquidation for big damage. Access to sticky web gives it a nice utility option but beside that I wish it had just a little more going for it, it can kind of wall some stuff but not enough to really serve as something to pivot into. As a bugfag though it's a great addition and my second favorite of the spidermon in the series. Also really nice shiny, rare example of a shiny that I might call as good as the base color even.

Araquanid has some of my favorite Pokédex entries. They appear to be contradictory, but then again, I suppose the world's not black and white.

I used one on my team in Moon alongside Dhelmise, Gumshoos, Primarina, Muk and Turtonator (got it from the GTS).
Flubble carried my shit against a tonne of different fights, absolute unit.

I think that it was just initial reaction to the completely hidden secondary effect of it's ability. You know, TRIPLING the power of Water-type attacks would be a huge deal on anything with slightly higher stats.

Oh yeah, they gave masquerain +20 spa and speed to match araquanid’s bst. It got buff to match the dex calling surskit and dewpider rivals. It was great to see people freaking out over Guzma’s masquerain back in the day. Thanks araquanid.

At least top 5 Bug Type for me and Top 10 Alola design. The ability is sick and wish they do more of that with “normal” mons. Design is great. I especially love the way the eyes are made. Shiny is sick af and instantly shiny hunted one in SV. The Totem fight is IMO the best Totem fight after Lurantis. Overall cool Mon.
