>>56292850the chibi artstyle was done very poorly, but the thing that kills it is the pokemon models clash with it hard. lgpe had a more chibi artstyle too, but the humans were proportioned well enough that they didn't look jarring next to the pokemon. bdsp has two distinctly different styles of character models in the overworld that clash hard with each other. having any kind of humanoid pokemon next to the chibis really highlights how they don't work together.
