One thing about SV that people don't actually talk about is the open world was kinda shit. Flat plateaus, with dull landscape and nothing going on.

Honestly, open world or whatever PLA was like would be the only way I'd accept to play through Kanto again.
Obviously, if they make a *decent* work with it.
Memes aside, Kanto is iconic and we all wished to visit it the way it looked like in the anime when we were little kids.
I'd accept for my nostalgia to be milked if the game is actually good.

agreed, but it won't happen anytime soon simply because Kanto is too urban. it's easy enough to make an open world wilderness, but incorporating cities is a lot harder and more demanding. PLA only had one city, and ZA presumably will be entirely set in the city. but Kanto's identity revolves around it having multiple significant cities. either they go back in time to when it was undeveloped like they did in PLA, the game is set entirely in one city like Saffron, or it just isn't happening, at least not for a long while.
