Voltorb isn't a mimic for Poké Balls, it's a mimic for item containers. Those are larger than Poké Balls.

I was just about to comment on how shit of a mimic this is because who in their right mind would WANT to step on a bear trap, but then I zoomed in and realized that the mimic part is supposed to be the mouth that vaguely resembles a pokeball.
Either way, 4/10 trap too obvious.

It's hidden in the swampy waters, sticking out only the mouth. It's pretty functional, more than Sus Amugus.

I remember someone posted few times in threads about regional formes/mimic mons a rolly-polly Pokemon that rolled into Voltorb/Electrode.

Also, literal pokeball transforming into small robot, kinda like Thunder Ball in YGO!

They should draw from some animals that use aggressive mimicry, like anglerfish, snaping turtles, ant-mimic spiders, etc
