Voice direction is what makes or breaks quality voice acting in a game, its what makes the difference between the dub of something like the Big Green dub of History of Trunks and the Funimation dub from way back when.
TCPi actually get decent VAs in but when they're giving some of the most phoned in performances of their life it makes no difference. You've got Alejandro Saab, formerly known as KaggyFilms of youtube fame who is super passionate about his roles and got his start doing silly little VOs on YouTube and eventually got picked up by Funi to do minor roles here and there and worked his way up up to big boy shit. When he does Yuri in FE3H he sounds great, when they get him to do Leon in the Pokemon anime he sounds ass. Same with Ray Chase, he does both Professor Cerise in the Ashnime and Bruno Bucciarati in Jojos. Guess which one he sounds far more enthusiastic in.
I don't trust TCPi to provide even halfway decent voice acting in their games and I don't trust Game Freak to provide the option of using a different language dub without changing the language of the game in its entirety rather than just the dubtrack.
When they're sound phoned in even in Masters which sources VAs from all over the industry then that's a very bad sign. The games look silly as hell without voice work, but they'll sound silly as hell with it. It's an unwinnable catch-22.
Also American hags never sound good as child characters.
