Since I nuzlocke a lot I've found nicknaming to be extremely tedious, so nowadays I just go with Pchal's idea of "Pokemon Names as written by a Starbucks Barista" since they always get the name on the cup wrong in some way.
So Bulbasaur would probably come out as Bulbous Sore or Bubba Sir or something.
