You're only thinking of it from a battling standpoint, the other thing you need to consider is design. Who tf wants ugly cheap ass "plastic" Pokemon?

Also in the current political climate something like plastic wouldn't be well received.

there are already plastic based pokemon like garbodor and maybe porygon, also don't forget that pollution is a theme in the games (see alolan muk) not to mention the versatility of plastic objects

1. Garbodor is made of many things, not just plastic. Dnd porygon is made of "code" as the game put it, it never suggests it's made of plastic, so you just made that up.

2. They are shit looking designs anyway.

3. Yes pollution is a theme sometimes and it's already adequately covered by the poison type

You can have Pokemon with plastic themes but that doesn't mean it needs to be a type.
