Idk, shitting up the dex with useless pokemon each gen was a bad move imo.
What's the point of having 126-156 pokemon a gen if only 6-20 something are worth damn?
Any of you play play stadium?
>INB4 MERCH
only a couple of pokemon were released as those shitty minifigures/plushes during the first gens.
>INB4 it makes it feel like a lived in world
shut the fuck up, they just health bars until they started appearing on screen until recently.
We rarely saw anything outside of battle until fifth gen
Also making them a replacement for animals was a stupid move too, they should have just been monsters as it was intended in the first gen. Seeing as though they are potrayed as though they can understand human speech and understand language it doesn't feel right for them to eat one another or things of that nature.
>INB4 digifag robots and cosplay
It's called evolution dumbfucks if something remained an animal for 5-6 stages that's just shit getting larger. Also both series are heavily influenced by tokusatsu, stop acting uneducated.

The way digimon did it was they just kept adding more top tier monsters at the end of the evolution chain instead of making new baby/child monsters with entirely new lines. Because of this we had animated sprites and follow animations 5 years before pokemon did as well as new models on the consoles instead of the same crusty shit from N64.
