Mega scizor and heracross were not exactly necessary but they mostly play the same roles they had before without being broken, designs are weak are not the worst among the megas. Pinsir was pretty damn deserving of one, yeah I guess an evolution would have been nicer in the long run but it was still deserving of a major buff like it. Hard to say if they will introduce any new ones, if they do I hope it's some kind of three stage early game bug who has no chance for a new evolution. Knowing GF we will get mega Volcarona though if anything.
