..which, yeah, it did do that, but then they fuck it up with the DLC. that's the reason i think it's dumb.

I mean this is definitely a contender, in reality he obviously ditched his Raticate cause it fell off at that point in the game.

He's at Pokémon Tower to laugh at losers' dead mons. A more interesting theory is that Blue was working with TR since he shows up there and at Silph Co. but didn't do anything to help.

This one is pretty stupid, but it doesn't help that there was once an live action musical where it was said that Delia and Giovanni once had a thing going on and people definitely took that one and said it with no context. The theory pretty much died once that BW anime aired where Giovanni and Ash met for the first time and had zero acknowledgement. Red's father does exist in game based on the celadon mall mention but his role was cut (iirc he's a Sliph Co NPC.)

It came from when the pokemon blue prototypes leaked, there’s an NPC in game labeled as father and he’s in one of the sliph co floors. It’s the same thing from when people checked out the leaked DP prototypes and they also had a mention of a father. The other thing is when you check out an NES in celadon mall and it goes “a baseball game, dad would like this!”

Yeah while I waited I checked bulbapedia and it said this, I booted my FireRed and flied over to Celadon and went to the floor with all the SNES' on the table and clicked all of them, it just said "It's a Super NES", no mention of dad. Guess it's only in Gen I
