They make a big deal about students going around the region looking for their treasure... Yet you don't really run into many students as you explore the areas.
They established Cyclizar as the main transport for Paldeans, yet you only ever see people with their Cyclizar "parked" in towns.
Towns were simplified and don't have much to them, definitely not as memorable as in older games.
And the naming of the world is also just so bland/basic, North Province (Area One) and that's it? At least throw in some made up words or funny puns.
The "do things in any order" doesn't work without level scaling. If I want to beat Grusha as my 1st Gym, meaning a lvl 5-10 team, I simply can't no matter what.
