I'll always remember the first time I used Solar Beam against a gym leader. I didn't have a handheld console growing up so I didn't get to play the mainline Pokemon games during the craze of pokemania. Sure, I played Colosseum, Hey You Pikachu, and Gale of Darkness, but I never went on a proper Pokemon journey.

All that changed when a friend told me about Playr.org a now-defunct website where you could emulate Gameboy and Gameboy color games through your browser. This was how I first learned about emulation in general. I used Playr to go on my very first journey which was in Pokemon Crystal and chose Chikorita as my starter. (Totodile is my favorite now but I just wanted a grass Pokemon) When I learned Solar Beam I immediately felt brave enough to challenge Clair!

Ack! Imagine my surprise when Chikorita got Ko'd while charging it up haha. I'm curious what are your guy's memorable Solar Beam moments?
