Is it cheating to trade in order to complete the Dex? Non-cheating would be trading with yourself for version exclusives.

if you're just trading randomly with people trying to get anything you can, and/or spamming surprise/wonder trade? I'd say yeah, that's fine.
but trading a bunch of pokemon in order (outside of game exclusives ofc) definitely makes it a lot lazier than actively doing the gamble.

I would actually respect somebody for completing the whole dex with wonder trade. That's pretty impressive in its own right. Did anybody ever do that?

In my shield save file, about a solid 60% of my pokedex was actually completed through wonder trade. so while I didn't get FAR, I DID indeed do a lot of it through it.

..pretty sure there's a guy on youtube who did this, though, so the answer will be yes.

Pokémon is a way of life. If your goal is to complete the Dex you should do it honorably like a true Pokémon Master, otherwise you're just a sham.

I have up to gen 7 shiny living dex all with my ot, besides some event mons that can only be shiny from the events. I'm almost done with gens 8 and 9. It's not even about feeling accomplishment or anything. I think it is a better experience to do it all yourself, especially with a non-shiny dex. You experience a different side of the game when you are filling the dex than you do when you play the story.

How do you guys name your save files? I'm split between naming everything the same name or trying to use canon names.. If canon names, I'm not sure what to pick for the third versions, and if not I'm not sure what to use as a female name if I play one of each version as female.
