Great idea but horribly executed.
Seasons should’ve changed weekly and there should have been more to do between seasons than winter and not winter.
I think so much more could’ve been done with access points, places to go, and things to do between each season.

then what is even the point of the feature if you're just going to circumvent it?
I think it's a cute idea but in execution it's just kind of meh. I don't think it would affect my opinion of the game in the slightest if the feature didn't exist. it's just there.

yeah I get it. I just don't find it that interesting. most of the routes barely change, and the ones that do you're just gonna see an inaccessible item and move on, cause like you said nobody is waiting for 4 months...
I don't hate the feature. I just don't love it either. it exists. it's something that's programmed into the game.

Yeah, it's a ince detail that helps making the world of pokemon feel alive. That being said, they needed to be weekly. Even back then the average kid/player would just rush through a new game in half a month at most.

It was fantastic, but I wish it did more. Like another poster said there's no real changes besides winter vs not-winter. More dynamic areas like Twist Mountain and Castelia Sewers would've been neat. I also would've liked more encounter changes besides Ice types showing up when it's cold (which is a nice change at least).

the problem with seasons is that they didn't do enough with them. there should've been more areas like twist mountain or route 8 where the way you traverse them changes drastically based on the season.
we needed season exclusive encounters too. not different rates, but entirely exclusive encounters. maybe the BW pokedex is too small and would've been stretched too thin, but they could've used it for some of the returning mons in BW2. imagine visitng floccesy ranch in the summer and finding Volbeat. or, since pinwheel forest and twist mountain are locked to postgame, maybe alternate evolution methods for leafeon and glaceon only available in certain seasons?
also, i think it's fine to make them last a month. you're not supposed to experience all of them (outside of that one sidequest nobody did) it's meant to add variety to repeat playthroughs.

I love the idea of seasons from an aesthetic point of view but hate the monthly cycle of it. There should have been a slider like in Sims games where you can choose to have longer or shorter seasons. Since most Pokemon games can be finished in 20-30 hours there should be an option to have 1-2 day seasons so you can actually see it all in one play-through and relatively easily get season exclusive pokemon/items.

I liked them, but the period length was just too long. Gamefreak overestimated how long it would take kids to complete their games. They pulled the same shit with the HGSS safari zone. I think a week for each season would've been more reasonable.

There are a HANDFUL of season-specific encounters in 2, but are you really rootin' for Unfeazant to return to Dragonspiral Tower after winter? It's barely anything at all.
Also, more Pokemon really should've played into the seasons too. It seems like it would make more sense if there was at least one of each type which responded to the seasons differently. I mean, if Unova has such dramatic seasons compared to any other region, why is that Deerling and Sawsbuck's the only one that adapts?
