4v4 arguably allows you to use more niche inconsistent matchup stuff that is deadweight in most matches so you don't have to bring it which can allow for some more creativity in theory. You can also get brownie points for having a a pachirisu on your team without ever actually using it in battle

They've been doing VGC 4v4 since they started doing it in gen 4, they're never changing it.

I could be wrong but I really doubt it.

As for legendaries, I do agree that no-legendaries should be the rule year-round, but they've been using legendaries in VGC since the beginning, it's a tradition, maybe they could save the legendaries for worlds only to make it feel more epic

maybe they could do 6v6 at worlds only too idk but pokemon battles are already painfully hard to follow for normies and that would make it even harder

I mean, if it was soccer or basketball I understand you must be in a team. But what you see in tournaments is 1 human vs 1 human.

I don't want to be part of an esports team. Half of these people are half of my age and I must beg "Hello do you want to be my friends?????" otherwise to be part of?

No thanks. If there's a next time ever I'll just say I'm going for Nauru or Tuvalu. Being nations so small and isolated will sure give me an exception.

on cart they take even longer. Some matches take the full 20 minutes without even being stallfest (Game 1 of VGC Finals JR division).

Running a 700+ person IRL tour with 6v6 singles is simply not possible especially if its bo3.

Competitive matches should consist of 3v3 singles (Round 1), 4v4 doubles (Round 2) and 6v6 singles (tiebreaker). If you can't master BOTH styles of battling then you're a bad trainer.

I can't think of a single sport or contest that does anything resembling this besides triathlons or whatever that are intentionally multi-discipline. For pokemon battles, this would require three entirely different teams. A better idea is simply for VGC to introduce a Singles format of some kind that has its own tournament alongside Doubles. Or maybe even better, 3+3 vs 3+3 multi-battles. It'd be cool to see people compete in a tournament with a buddy like a doubles partner in tennis.
