Bede goes through more change. First he's a brat, then he's a depressed brat, then he agrees to Opal training him and changes quite a bit and ends up happier than before.
Both of them obviously beat Marnie though. She just goes from boring and aloof girl to boring and slightly less aloof girl. Wow.
