If you use Home to transfer all the Pokemon from your Living Dex in it gives you enough research points you can skip most of the grind. I think I only had to do the "catch X Pokemon" thing like half a dozen times total when I played PLA. Also thanks to Home I was able to transfer in higher level Pokemon to rush through the game with. It's obviously a bandaid fix, but if PLZA has Home support then it should work there too.

Don't knoiw why you braindead bastards keep expecting Home on launch, when Game Freak are pointing it at their traditional target market anyway and wish for them to actually play the game. Don't get it on launch if you need to swap in one your old shit like a 'tism to nolife the story..

That's because you ignore the whole point of what a pokédex is, how humanity discovered the data concerning the various differing creatures contained within one and ignored a game featuring the first pokédex written for a region where the player STUDIES the pokémon of the region, to learn more about them and write the first fucking pokédex featuring new creatures that hadn't been studied by human eyes prior.
Game Freak should stop trying, because what's the point when you single-digit IQ retards can't even comprehend the setting of the game and why they made such an arse with establishing that setting to cry about having to study a pokémnon to write a pokédex entry.

Oak created the first ELECTRONIC pokédex and programmed it with the sum total of humanity's knowledge of Kanto pokémon, so when you caught one, it'd automatically spit it out. The pokédex Rowan hands out pulls from the sum total of information about Sinnoh's pokémon, which built upon the Hisui pokédex as the earliest example of pokémon study in the early Sinnoh region. There's aiming for realism, and then there's going too realistic to the point it's not fun and disrespects the player's time.
The tasks themselves aren't the problem, it's the amount. I don't mind if I have to watch a Pokemon use a move for the sake of completing the dex, but only for about 10 times when there're dozens in the game that ask for the same.
Hey, whatever it takes for a $30 game to justify its $60 MSRP, am I right?

So don't play it then. Find something else to do in the last year of a Gen. I didn't particularly mind the price, I more than got my €50 out of it. Find a better job if the cost of kid's games is too rich for you, it's only going to get worse when the system's going to be at a $500 buy-in point.

In SV, you only need to learn the move + level up to evolve nigga qwilfish, in PLA is spamming the move like 20+ times using a style.

No wonder not a single hisui form is popular since is a hassle to get them.

You can complete half the tasks when you catch the pokemon the first time just by sneaking up on it, throwing a bunch of berries at it and hitting it with a backstrike. This shit isn't hard unless you play games like a toddler.
