Out of all the flying pokemon (not flying type pokemon, just pokemon that are able to fly, regardless of if they're flying type or not, or if they're a bird or not), Braviary is THE pokemon I'd most want to ride on and soar the skies with. As an American, of course I'd love the pokemon based on America's national symbol, and its constantly at odds with Haxorus as my favorite Unova pokemon. I love how it's portrayed as this brave badass warrior of the skies who refuses to stop fighting even when injured. Its Japanese name, Warrgle, is also really awesome. Unfortunately though, GF did this pokemon really dirty in its debut games.
>was version-exclusive (and the version I had didn't have it),
>was a late-game encounter
>evolved pretty late
GF thankfully corrected this in BW2 where it can be caught as a static overworld encounter on Mondays as an already-evolved Braviary with its hidden ability, and still fairly early in the adventure. It'll probably be around the same level as your current team by the point you encounter it, though it's still version exclusive sadly, which is why went with White 2 for the sequels instead and named it Patriot when I added it to my team (I know I should've gone with Black 2 for story consistency with Black 1, and to also have a Zekrom, but I don't care about story much in Pokemon games anyway, and while not having Zekrom stings a little, I obviously like Braviary better. So I obviously wanted it more than Zekrom).
