Like its too on-the-nose. I genuinely do not see them just giving away the starters so easily. And so early.
Another thing to consider is that, just because those three have French connections, that doesn't mean they'll be chosen.
They can easily pick other starters and give their regional evolutions French themes.
I'm personally starting to lean more into the remaining 7-Star Tera Raid theory. Specifically Snivy/Litten/Totodile.
That combo re-uses the same generations as last time, which would make sense if they plan to do a Legends trilogy.
Snivy has ties to France already, so that's easy. Totodile loosely thanks to the Paris Sewer Crocodile. Litten's a stretch though.
Maybe something like Parc des Félins, a French zoo dedicated to wild cats. But again, they can easily make a more fitting regional form.
