Why would anyone play Ruby or Sapphire nowadays when they have Emerald? The only reason I could think of is that Emerald doesn't have some Hoenn Pokémon, but the Pokémon its missing are so shit that you wouldn't want them anyway unless it's to complete a dex 100%
Seriously, it's Surskit/Masquerain, Meditite/Medicham and Roselia which are all three better suited for Sinnoh anyway, and Zangoose and Lunatone. That's it. Nobody cares about these guys.
And even if it was for dex completion, you wouldn't want Ruby or Sapphire anyway because they have WAY MORE version exclusives.
